At CSI, we’re proud of our licensed industrial electricians, engineers, technologists, technicians, and many other professionals who make CSI an amazing place to work and an upstanding firm to work with. We thought we’d take a moment to introduce you to one of our key team members!
Say Hello to Brian Largo, Engineering Manager, Controls
From a young age, Brian Largo has always been interested in finding out how things work. It comes as no surprise that this passion and curiosity for learning the inner workings of complex machines has followed Brian into his career.
Since graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University, Brian has spent the past decade of his career in the automotive industry building his knowledge and honing his expertise in pneumatic and electrical hardware design. Always with a primary focus on safety.
His favourite types of projects to work on are ‘cradle to grave’ jobs, particularly robotic power train assembly cells. He enjoys the precision that is involved with that kind of work and seeing a project through from conception to completion. Brian is knowledgeable and experienced in UL 508A, CSA, NFPA/NEC, CE Mark panel build standards, and PLC Programming in Siemens and Rockwell.
With his past specialized focus in automotive, Brian also holds GM GCCH-1 (Global Common Controls Hardware) Standard and GCCS-2 (Global Common Controls Software) Standard certifications.
Here at CSI, Brian still enjoys working on projects within those speciality areas, but he also enjoys guiding others. As he continues to build the team he manages, Brian supports his colleagues with mentorship, teaching them specialties and ensuring safety and equipment standards are being adhered to.
As Brian puts it, “my job is to tell the robot where to go, when to go, and how to do it safely.”
Stay tuned to learn about other CSI team members who work with our clients on innovative robotics and electrical engineering control systems. You can also reach out to us to learn more about our team members and the expertise we have to tackle your next project!
